Granulation, is a significant unit operations in the production of pharmaceutical finished products, mostly tablets and capsules. Generally, granulation process can be done either through Wet granulation or by Dry granulation. Many of the product formulators considers wet granulation as a universally applicable method for tablet production. The final blend of a compression mix generally requires a good flow, good compactability, uniform distribution of drug and controllable drug release which can be obtained with wet granulation without relying on the intrinsic properties of the drug or the excipients. In high shear granulators, all the process of dry -mixing and granulation can be done in a few minutes and the if required the systems can be connected with a variety of devices to detect the end point of granulation.
