This paper analyzes the congestion in electricity networks. As, we know that, electricity market consist of many facilities and equipments like generators, transmission, distribution lines. And all the equipment has their own limits. The electrical features like voltage magnitude of system bus and voltage angle difference of transmission line must operate at some specified values. The power system performance is affected when there is any violation of transmission line limits. When the operational limits of the transmission line exceeds from its specified value then congestion occurs on the line. Due to congestion it is not possible to dispatch all the contracted transactions. In this paper we will apply the simultaneous feasibility test on firm transmission rights.
