This paper investigates the performance of a PV system with Boost Converter where switching is controlled by MPPT technique connected Multi Level Inverter topology. Multilevel inverters are suitable in high voltage & high power application due to their ability to synthesize waveforms with better harmonic spectrum. This paper presents first the design and study of P-V and I-V characteristics of PV system and then output is connected to Boost converter. Switching is done by P and O type MPPT algorithm. Lastly Multicarrier based cascaded Multilevel Inverter is connected to this previous mentioned system. .Cascaded Multilevel inverter strategy enhances the fundamental output voltage and reduced Total harmonic distortion. A Single phase five level cascaded inverter is used to explain the study. The study can be easily extended to an m-level inverter. In order to justify the advantages of the system, harmonic analysis and measured THD and output voltages are compared and discussed with DC-AC Bridge Inverter.
